Welcome to my world.....

A wise man once said....

"Life is like music; it must be composed by ear, feeling and instinct, not by rule."

That wise man was Samuel Butler. I found this quote a couple years ago when I was writing a paper for a college class. I was writing a persuasive essay about censorship in the music industry (against it) and needed a quote to support my thesis. It was the first quote I found, and it fit perfectly. I look at this quote and I see how it fits so well for my life. The way I hear music, the way it makes me feel, the way it can manipulate my emotions... Music is a very powerful thing. What does it mean to you?

Anyone that knows me knows that I can't go a single day without listening to music..... not one. Whether it be my radio, my i-Pod, Youtube or streaming online, I need it. I can't imagine my world without music. For as long as I can remember, it's always been in my life. One of my earliest memories is of my mom playing records (remember those?)... anything from Queen or The Beatles to Frank Zappa or Led Zeppelin. She was a huge influence on me growing up which directly contributed to my obsession with music.

With my mother's influence, as well as those of my peers and the genres I braved through in my youth, I've explored a variety of music. And what better way to experience music than to hear it live? Concerts... the ultimate experience. It can be hard, driving, in-your-face music or mellow, soothing, soulful music... the kind of music you didn't just hear but music you experienced.

I am no musician, nor can I utter a verse of song in tune... but who says you have to play or sing it well in order to appreciate it? I only know what I hear and what I like. So now I bring unto this virtual reality my random rants, raves and reviews of everything music - from what's hot now, what rocked back in the day and tales of my never-ending quest to find the next best concert....
